Jose Benedicto Mejia, 46, was pronounced dead at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, said Jimmy Lee, Contra Costa County sheriff's spokesman. Mejia and wife Magalay Iglesias, 33, had been arguing early Sunday at their home on Heather Drive in the Montalvin Manor neighborhood north of Richmond, Lee said.
