I still have a sore throat, and a cough, but had a good breakfast (freshly squeezed orange juice and All-Bran).
Made a few calls and then did all my banking, including making deposits and sorting out my credit card. Had a slight panic attack when my KEB card was 'rejected' by two ABSA ATMs. The last time I was in South Africa it was ONLY the ABSA ATMs that allowed me to draw money here. On a whim I went to a bank I dislike, FNB, and where the card previously never worked a few months ago, now it does, although the cost to draw money is about R30-R40.
I also took my bicycle in for a service and to exchange the handlebars. At a nearby pharmacy I bought some cough syrup, and found coat hangers, but only wooden ones. Will go to Pick 'n Pay to get a bunch of plastic ones.
Also bumped into Allan's dad while having lunch at Prellerplein. Could have spoken to Justus but Jenny says he is in Johannesburg still.
Jenny's had an eye operation but it doesn't look too bad. Her boss has just had a heart attack so not much going on at work for her.
I bought a cellphone (first day in Bloemfontein, and I've already got a cellphone).
Number, if you'd like to reach me:
