I have started writing something I call The Swimmers and will set up a new blog to post it. It has partly flowed from the inspiration of watching the Oscars, but I have felt a distilled need to be creative for a while. I am not sure what I am doing, but am quite enjoying what I've done so far. If I can get Ryk's inside story it might make mine more interesting, and add to its credibility. So I will ask him if he wants to talk about his experience as a swimmer. It seems I have to thank being sick for allowing my energies to come together.
I may seem upbeat but today is Tuesday and another day without training. I was supposed to run again this morning, and I have not done that, nor have I gone to Petro, and I am also letting go of the SA Timetrial champs on Thursday (one day to recover?). A lady, Penny, called to tell me I can't enter for the Argus - it's too late, which is purely academic because I can do it their way, or illegally (ssshh) taking over someone's (ssssh) entry. I'd prefer to do it their way but they want me to send faxes of emails and stuff which hopefully will be enough. If I can do the Argus it will be a bit of a bright spot on what has become increasingly dark days.
I am really looking forward to seeing The Aviator, and want to watch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind again. Kate Winslet is such an attractive actress.
I took some stunning pictures yesterday in and around the university. I will post those at some stage. Things at home are getting a bit stressful and dicy, particularly around the computer. For example if I, gasp, print one page I might, gasp, use up one page and a sliver of ink. GASP!
These are, after all, perfectly limiting (restrictive) conditions to induce writing. So if I cannot launch myself over chlorinated waters, along the aluminum frame or by the soles of my Airs, let me be a mental traveller, see where it is The Swimmers goes.
