Getting into the swim...


I had a great swim during my lunchbreak today. Did 100 lengths, which is 2km, in 46 minutes. I did 10 sets of 10.
First one: 3:20
Then: 3:10
Then close to 3:00 (the last three each slightly quicker).
Sixth set was kicking, and then the 7th I went hard: 2:50
Did sprints for the rest and chatted to an old man and his trainer (a blonde girl). Water was very hot - about 29 C.

I felt quite tired later in the day, so obviously a good effort.
My weight: 82.92kg. It's great to be under 83kg. I think what has helped me lose weight is staying off soda and fruit juice, and cutting out red meat and white bread. I want to get under 80kg so that I don't have to kick my fat butt so hard on the bike, in the pool, and on the run.

Early Bird

I got up this morning to void...a clinical term for evacuating yellowish fluid into the gray toilet bowl in the grim hours of the wee morning...and prayed silently that it was still early enough for another hour, better yet, two, of sleep. No such luck. It was 4:15 and I had to be up at 4:40 at the latest to meet A at 5 at the top of the hill.

I waddled over to the window, unlatched the window. Brooding blue gray sky. No rain. We missed the bunch, but had a nice ride at a sedate pace. I'm still moeg after the Argus and acclimatising back to 1.5km above sea level.

After the ride - about 35km - we went to gym. Saw LA there, and H. Did some hardcore core and wow...saw some core exercises that I have never seen before that a super-tough.
Weight was 84.38kg (pre-Argus it was 84.3kg).

Think I will swim tomorrow and do Northcliff on Sunday.
