The New Commandments

-Question everything - test all things against the facts and be ready to discard a cherished belief
-Do not do unto others what you would not want them to do to you
-In all things strive to cause no harm
-Honor your connection. Treat fellow humans beings - in fact all living things - with love, honesty, faithfulness and respect
-Do not overlook evil or shrink from administering justice, but always be ready to forgive wrongdoing freely admitted and honestly regretted
-Live life with a sense of joy and wonder
-Always seek to learn something new
-Never seek to censor or cut yourself off from dissent; respect the rights of others to disagree
-Form indepedent opinions on the basis of your own reason and experience; don't be led blindly by others
-Enjoy your own sex life (as long as it damages nobody else)
-Do not discriminate or oppress on the basis of sex or race
-Do not indoctrinate your children
-Value the future on a timescale longer than your own lifetime

The first and last appear to me to be particularly relevant and meaningful right now.
