EINA: Petrol price to rise by 17c/l

The retail price of all grades of petrol will increase by 17 cents per litre on Wednesday February 6 after being unchanged last month, the Department of Minerals and Energy announced.

The wholesale price of diesel and 0.005% sulphur will increase by seven cents a litre.

The wholesale price of illuminating paraffin will increase by two cents a litre, while the single maximum national retail price for illuminating paraffin will also increase by two cents a litre.

The retail price of a litre of 95 octane unleaded petrol in Gauteng increases to 764c/l and to 740c/l at the coast - new highs.

In June the price of petrol hit an all-time high of 724c/l.

More.

NVDL: Unfortunately, that's not the last of it. See the 17c price rise is based on an exchange rate of about R7.10 to the $. It is now around R7.45. So we're likely to see it going up and up and up. But if you read this blog often you would have known that already.
