"Tannie' wins Survivor South Africa (VIDEO)

Policewomen Lorette Mostert from Middelburg is the winner of Survivor.
“I still have to come to terms with my new celebrity status,” she said. And she says she has no idea what she's going to do with the R1 million. I have no idea whether the South African show is going to survive. If a 'tannie' wins, what does that say about South Africans? On the other hand, perhaps it says a lot. Our women are strong, mentally and physically.

To see the interview with Mostert, go here.

NVDL: I saw an interesting interview with the musician, Katie Melua, who sings 9 Million Bicycles in Beijing. She said she never meant to become a mainstream music person, much less a celebrity (and her music is quite folky, and unconventional in the pop music sense). What she said was interesting though. She basically alluded to the fact that 'celebrity' is an almost meaningless label. "If you appear on reality TV, you're a celebrity." Which implies that in this world, if you get a lot of attention, you can get something for nothing. That's a human trend that runs contrary to logic and common sense.
