NVDL cracks Top 20

871 hits in one day, 467 from South Africa. It's a new record. NVDL is currently 14th in the News & Politics Section, and 84th overall. Having said that, it's only fair to say that this blog surfed the hype and panic wave that was - or became - The Great South African Weather Hoax (Or Was It?). Ironically, the very next day there's a report on a large iceberg sailing by St. Francis Bay. It would be great to see images of that.

In fact, climate change is very much part and parcel of the local zeitgeist, which is good to see. With SASOL, South Africa is likely to become, per capita, one of the world's worst polluters. Coal burning or worse, liquifying and gassifying, is one of the most toxic processes. This is likely to gain momentum as oil moves beyond $80 (it is now $76). People will ask themselves: do we want the lights on or clean air? And then later: Do we want a roof over our heads or temporary shelters?

Not surprisingly most of the local hits were based around 'Ground Zero', Gauteng.
I'd also like to thank those people who email me links to stories. Thanks guys.
