Strangling the Customs Official

Some friends of mine said you're not allowed to film or take pictures inside an airport. While that may be true, it isn't true in the STRICTEST sense of the word. I have a small camera, so I guess I can get away it. Incidentally, I realised on this trip how easy it is to take pictures of infrastructure, of a lot of processes without anyone noticing. I wasn't spying, I was simply in a hurry. But it occurred to me if someone wanted to scale a joint, they'd get all their information and more, and know exactly what the setup is.
There are signs inside the consulate in Japan, and around the customs checking area explicitly saying NO PHOTO, and the counter at customs is also high, possibly to prevent would be counterfeiters from seeing exactly what is involved. Perhaps it is to prevent someone from grabbing their passport or worse, strangling the customs official for delaying them long enough so they missed their flight.
