This Gif Works!

So I have been on Phedra Cut for about 3 weeks now. When my buddy who recommended it to me, and gave me some leftover stuff, his wife made an arbitrary comment: 'That stuff is gif (poison)'.

On Sunday I started taking 4 of these at a time, (you start on 2, use them for a week, then go to 3, twice a day etc). My friend says that it's when you're on 4 that the effect really kicks in. I'm sure. When I was only on 2 I was buzzing (avoiding the coffee room in a desperate bid NOT to seem like I was on too much coffee).

On the bike the effect is also pronounced. I've gone up Northcliff a few times, it's a very tough and steep 2km climb. Basically before I was on this stuff my engine conked out at around 169. Now I get my heart rate up to 174. It's a concern, but at the same time, my maximum is about 184, and I historically have a lot of trouble raising my heart rate on the bike. Often I can't get it beyond 164.

The point is this stuff is working. It does help lose weight, and what i like is my stomach doesn't feel tight or bloated after a single meal. I find I spend a LOT of the day sitting, and this just isn't good for metabolism or digestion.

I don't plan on using Phedra Cut forever, but it is at least good to see results. Over the next two to three weeks, with more free time on my hands, I am going to be training a lot. Using 8 tablets a day means I'll probably need another bottle soon. When I've finished that bottle I'm going to stay off the stuff for at least 6 weeks, and maintain training, and see if the weight stays off.

A View From The Couch

Last night I slept on the couch, and thus woke up this morning 5 metres closer to my bicycle. I expected rain but as usual, the air was dry as a cork and so by 5am I was out the door. Was a pretty nice ride against the backdrop of an oily, visceral dawn. The sort of thing my brother paints in his boompie bergie huise Western Cape landscapes.

Phedra Cut is definitely working it's magic, and the side-effects are also becoming increasingly obvious. I feel jittery and irritable, and am able to hit much higher heart rates during training (up about 10). On Sunday I hit 174, which is 10 beats above my maximum in the 94.7. That's er...A LOT.

Ryk Neethling, I'm told, has flown to Durban on some charity mission on behalf of Madiba. He has injured his shoulder and may require surgery, although it seems that is no longer on the cards - or at least - not as on the cards as it was a few days ago.

I've submitted HOLIDAY today to ZEBRA Press, another Struik imprint. See how that goes. Meanwhile I am looking forward to Friday and the weekend:
Friday: The Golden Compass opens.
Weekend: Gauteng swimming champs and a triathlon.

Office Party

My day yesterday started on an unfortunate note. I was up at 4:30am, basically doing the zombie thing. Getting into cycling clothes, water bottle out of the freezer, gulped down 2 phedra cuts, while the palm tree outside my window waved to catch my attention. It looked cold and miz outside, threatening to rain but not enough to seem imminent if you catch my drift. So Alex, very unsually, sms-d that he wasn't going to ride this morning.

I hesitated in the dark. Half dressed. Then I made the crucial decision, and I have to say, a bad one. I got back into bed. The Phedra Cut did its work, accelarating my metablolism, meaning I couldn't sleep for the next 4 hours.

After a day at the office we went in a bus to the Joburg CBD. Honestly at times I felt like I was in a European city, travelling back in time. So many beautiful sandstone edifices. This is the part of the city that was the original city, when gold was coming out of the Earth, and the eye of the British Empire was fixed on this glowing part of the world.

The venue for the function was the Rand Club, one of the beautiful edifices, but in a pretty grotty part of town. The inside is lavish - membership is R5000 a year. There are big paintings of the queen inside, and a generally Victorian Colonial Ethos, you've seen it in Out of Africa: England in Africa.

The dress code was black and silver. I fitted in perfectly with my camo pants and khaki top. I didn't bother to take my own camera, or to be a social butterfly. Did meet a funny fella called Temba though, who worked in sales. Felt a bit more loosey goosey after a double whiskey. But since discretion is the better part of virtue, I'm not going to describe the good, the bad or the ugly. Suffice it to say there were generous dollops of each of these. I will put up the odd photograph through the course of the day-to-day ;-)

Got home around 11pm and slept like a baba. Today is another grey day with alas, no partying this evening, but perhaps a drink with L.

I Said Yes To Drugs (N)

I feel great, really great, but I would just like to know what the side-effects are (long and short term). One of the not so nice side-effects has been a sort of partial eruption of breakfast (minus the breakfast). A very nasty industrial taste. YUCCCKK!

On the plus side, I feel quite a alert, and the amount of caffeine (which induces higher metabolic activity) negates the need to dose oneself with coffee every 2nd hour.

On the downside, I feel a bit jittery and irritable. Not sure if that Is because it's a Monday, or because it's a USN induced Monday, or me? Or a combination.

I've always been a bit anti-Chemicals, including supplements, but I have felt a lot lighter and my tummy has felt a lot more loose. It could be thanks to this stuff that shifts what's inside you around as though you were a 25 year old, or it could be just that my 7 hour average exercises per week are starting to do the job. Whatever it is, the idea is Phedra Cut can help to solve a problem that a lot of 30 year old's experience: Their bodies suddenly go into slow mo metabolism, and the result is weight gain. With Phedra Cut you get to have the body of a 25 year old again.

But do you also get: [Primal shrieking, ridiculous break dancing pantomime with manic eye roll_______________________ - fill in psychotic episode here]
