A Book For My Christmas Wishlist

The autobiography of Jake White, In Black and White, is set to break all records for a South African sporting book and do so easily, surpassing best-sellers such as Springbok Saga and Rainbow Warrior by François Pienaar and Edward Griffiths.
This is the big one.

If you read nothing else, read Chapters 44 and 45, the ones about the World Cup Final - the lead-up to it and the match itself. Read them and experience all the emotion and pride all over.
For the rest of this Planet Rugby review, go here.

NVDL: I want this book for Christmas. I want this book for Christmas. I want, I want - does everyone realise what I want?-)

My Christmas Wishlist (#5, 6 and 7)

I'd like to be close to 80kg by Christmas. At the rate I'm going, that's certainly possible.

One of these rims is still in good nick, the other one has a fracture which makes it essentially useless. R4000 for a new one.

I'm still waking up in the middle of the night and moving to the couch. No, there's no girlfriend or wife kicking me out of bed, not even a snoring kittycat. The futon has a slight convex shape, and if I dare sleep on it I wake up with a sore back and neck. Not a great way to wake up at 5am (if you've slept at all), then go cycling and then be bright and chipper all day.

All I Want For Christmas... (#2 and 3)

I like the design of the classic watch faces, except, being a Generation Xer, I can't be bothered spending an extra 3 seconds working out what the time is. This elegant design offers both. This is Smart Sport, as opposed to Smart Casual, which ought to be THE trend for this millenium. Sport implies efficiency, health, diet, cutting the wasteline, effort etc.

There's a cheaper version of this aero frame that retails for about R12000. Since Heartland has reneged for 387568739 time on paying me this month, I'm not holding my breath that I'll be buying this sort of extravagance any time soon. It starts to boil down to the absurd: what do you want, an awesome racing frame or put down a deposit for a house?
