Gustav: Track Updated

Ever since Katrina, I've found the best hurricane updates and data come from MSNBC. Sky doesn't do too badly either. Their hurricane tracker is also the best for detail. This is a new one, even better than their previous software. Looks like Gustav is going to make a direct hit on Houma, near New Orleans. Get the latest update for Gustav's track here.

Like Fay, Gustav appears to be a very wet storm.



Historic tracks for storms within a 300 Mile radius. Katrina and Gustav intersect probably just off New Orleans. Katrina originated just off the Florida panhandle and then grew massively over a very brief period. Hannah is swimming in a similar area to Katrina, and may well eclipse Gustav's attrition rate.
