At least seven people have been diagnosed with cholera in the Western Cape, the province's Department of Health has reported.
Last month there were only two isolated cases of cholera reported in the province.
"These are laboratory-confirmed cases and no deaths have been reported," department spokesperson Faiza Steyn said on Monday.
"We, the provincial health department, and City Health are confident that there is no widescale outbreak."
There has been one case in Wallacedene, three in Khayelitsha, two in Masiphumelele and one in Ravensmead.
At least 64 new suspected cases have been reported in Limpopo and Gauteng and 13 confirmed cases were reported in the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and North West.
