1944 Cholera Cases in Limpopo Now/2100+ dead in Zimbabwe

Limpopo recorded 90 cholera cases in one day, the provincial health department said on Wednesday.

Spokesperson Phuti Seloba said on Tuesday alone, 90 more cholera cases were confirmed, bringing the total number of those affected in the province to 1 944.

The 90 cases were reported in Vhembe, Mopani, Capricorn, Sikhukhune and Waterburg districts of Limpopo.

The death toll is unchanged at nine.

Two more suspected cholera cases were reported in Gauteng.

Spokesperson Phumelele Kaunda said the number of suspected cases in the province had risen from 160 on Monday to 162 by Wednesday afternoon.

Of the 162, about 33 cases were confirmed as cholera while the death toll still stood at three.
