Britney: In Memorium (PHOTOGRAPHY)

What's happening to Britney Spears says far more about us, it is far more of an indictment against the masses than against her. We are a society that is on average overweight, over-indulgent and overly-obsessed tabloid 'reality', and yet pudgy fingers poke towards the TV in self-righteous indignation...Gorging and gulping, indulging all we can on 'sexy-hot' celebrities but as soon as the zeitgeist shifts, the contempt sets in. It's a schizophrenic hot cold, love hate, on off psychology that's disconnected from any personal relevance to the standards we're applying...that's inherently defective, deeply flawed and incredibly insane.

If this is how we treat people we hardly know, would we treat the people we do know any differently (and to different standards?), and worse: what does it say about how we see ourselves? When you're hot you're hot and when you're not fuck off and die?
