45/8 Day 2 Surprise Surprise

Today was my last day at GnB Baengma. The director apparently hired Christian full time (I am only part time) on Sunday. He told me on Friday that he wanted me in the mornings from now on, so I thought I'd be doing this a bit longer than a week, or two days. I have mixed feelings. So this guy I've been training from Canada is my replacement, and obviously they needed someone who could teach afternoons too. The director wanted me to stay the whole week, but neither I nor Christian saw any point in that, and with two pak pagis (bald guys) in the classes, it was just a recipe for mayhem. The extra money would have been good, but kindy kills me over long periods of time. I know after only a few days in my first week I was thinking, "Thank God it's only 2 weeks."
So much for bugging out of Korea in December or January.

On the upside, the bus back from Hwajeong last night was really crowded, so I was standing right beside a lady who stood on my toe. We got to talking, and she turned out to be a lecturer in customer services in Gangnam. She lives in Ilsan, and works freelance, as a consultant for all the big companies. She says they need English lecturers. I was saying to her, "I need something to save me from the kindergarten job I'm doing. It's driving me crazy." I gave her my card, so hopefully something comes from that.

It is something of a relief to be done with this morning gig. Now I don't have any excuse for not cycling out to Imjingak in the week, and getting a few more runs in. Last night I was actually wondering whether to chuck Cheolwon, since I am not getting training in, and that's leaving me feeling irritated and depressed. It's bothering me a lot that I have gained so much weight, and also that I've let it remain that way for so long. Now I can do something about it.

I still would like to earn extra money, so will be open to that. Maybe for the next few weeks I need to just concentrate on training, get into a pattern, and get myself motivated. I've been able to download the Tour de France (as Korea doesn't have it anywhere, not even in the sports bars), and already have the first two stages. That's likely to get me onto the bike too.

I woke up at 5am today, but went back to bed after seeing how grotty the weather was. In future, weather or not, I'd like to get out there. Maybe a bit later, and with a bit more blue, and with a little more sleep. Nevertheless, I'm in yellow today.
