Start Running

Posted by PicasaAfter a productive, but frankly, dull weekend (I didn't set a toe outside my bulding since coming back from work on Friday night), Monday morning dawns bright and beautiful.

Went for a run in the clearness of the morning, holding my iPod as I made my way around Lake Park for 1 lap. It's a lovely day to be out and about.

Run: 5.5km
Time: 33 minutes
Heart rate: 159 average (maximum 170)
I think I still have the flu, as I felt unusually tired.
Kcal: 610

Also did pullups, taking a bit of strain. Felt kind've dizzy afterwards.
Pullups: 10

At home did a little stretching, and some 'alternative superman's on my bouncy ball.
Pilates: 5 minutes

It's about 6 months to the SA Ironman, and less than a month to the next marathon. I'd like to slowly start getting into a fitness regimen.

Corneli just called and shared some gossip. Must say, I'm not sure if I'd ever understand the people here, including the foreigners. We're really a funny bunch of people.
While running in the park I spotted a woman wearing a black visor, which shaded her well over her nose, and then under that were two styrofoam or foamy cardboard face masks. Not sure what the point is of going outdoors if you're going to dress like that.
Today's warm again, so going to wear knee length khaki green cargo trousers and a thin army-styled brown jersey...will just roll up the sleeves.

On my way to school I need to check whether my school paid me last month's salary. I'll go and do that now.
