A Room of One's Own

I am going Airport Stir Crazy. I arrived at the airport with plenty of time to spare (I thought), but the 45 minutes quickly got whittled down once I had to drive my bike to NATIONWIDE's hangar at the far end of Cape Town airport. From there I had to return the car, get to reservations and run back to fetch some keys I'd left on the key ring. A good run. I arrived at the gate with about 2 minutes to spare.

I had a nice chat on the phone to a guy called Craig, and arrived at PE airport, bikeless - it is apparently going to be here tomorrow. I won't be needing to ride it today. I'd like to swim in the sea tomorrow. Have already seen plenty of triathletes cruising along the roads and walking around.

My Hotel room is nice, with a seaview. I've unpacked and have a bit of a controlled environment again.

The bad news is I've discovered that my air plane ticket to Korea has disappeared. I made a mental calculation that if I do something like a Celta course it will cost me R25 000 plus accomodation, so let's say R30 000.
Course fee: R10 000
Missed month of work: R10 000
Unused air ticket/replacement: R6000
Accomodation in South Africa: R4000.
That's quite a bill, and, I think, both unnecessary and will take ages to recoup as well.

Will rest today and pick my bike up tomorrow. eed to find a bike shop so I can put the aero bars on, and need to sort out my ticket. The Sendingfietstoer is not going from PE to Cape Town, but in the reverse direction, so I need to get a refund from them.
It's a confusing and uncertain time for me, as there is someone special I'd rather be with than not be with, in South Africa. But I also have to live, and work, and the summer seems to be waning here.

Will try to remain focussed on the Ironman now, on eating healthy food and resting, and getting to know the course beyond the porch of the hotel. Will also go for a few long walks on the beach.
