Words and Dreams

We had a speech contest today. It was quite interesting. Do you remember what your dream was when you were 13 years old? I think mine was to be a Springbuck swimmer and a bestselling writer.
I am happy to report that I haven't entirely given up on either of these, but it may be fair to say I am not pursuing either title. Although who knows about the bestseller, he he.

I think my hopes for the moment are fairly simple and fairly clear:

1) Do an Ironman (until I qualify for the World Championships in Hawaii)
2) Buy a house
3) Achieve something significant in a creative sense. Possibly publishing a book or finishing a short film. Am working on a few things. The childrenb's stories I am writing now make me feel fairly encouraged.
4) Travel (maybe Australia, maybe eventually as far afield as Iceland).
5) This one's personal.

I think it is important to look at my goals because I sometimes just get lost in the busy-ness of things, and I forget whether I am doing what I am doing because of habit, or because it's something I have chosen for myself. I need to try to live as consciously as I can.
