clipped from www.businessday.co.za AFRICAN National Congress (ANC) president Jacob Zuma and Gauteng education MEC Angie Motshekga visited Bhukulani Secondary School at Zondi in Soweto yesterday to encourage pupils and teachers to work hard so that the school achieves a 100% pass rate this year. Zuma called on pupils to “concentrate on education”, saying he did not have the opportunity to attend formal schooling but educated himself “to understand English and participate in the development of the country”. Zuma warned against the use of illegal substances and drugs, and congratulated the school on obtaining a 98% matric pass rate last year. “This year you should strive for a 100% pass in all grades,” said Zuma.
