There are huge fires all over the Eastern Cape and some areas had to be evacuated. It seems to be especially bad in the area from P.E. down to Knysna. Other areas have no water - I see that in Koppies there is no water as from today - no tap water, no toilet etc - things are really getting desperate. I see that from Pretoria to the north towards Botswana they are having temperatures of 34 up to the low 40's. Your Dad will probably get fried when he goes [to Botswana] next week. We've already been in the Kruger Park with temperatures over 44 - that's unbearable and one feels totally listless.
