How effective is Amatomu as an aggregator?

I've probably posed the question the wrong way. Amatomu is great as a resource for Blogs, a one-stop-shop for seeing what SA blogs are saying. It's fairly user friendly and very clearly arranges a lot of updating information. I thought Amatomu directed a lot of traffic to blogs - in fact it doesn't (not on a per website basis, though on an aggregate level it might be a fair trickle). I thought Amatomu would be a huge referrer but it never features prominently on Google Analytics.

Look at this screengrab from Google Analytics. It comes from a very busy day, well over 2000 hits, mostly thanks to Google. How many hits did I get thanks to Amatomu? 3. Out of well over 2000. Afrigator - quiet, unassuming - pulled in proportionally a lot more. But in the internet universe, Google is God - all seeing, all knowing and now all browsing.

What I do like about Amatomu is how clearly and cleverly blogs are categorised and ranked. I'm 37th in South Africa right now.
