Construction chief warns of 10,000 job losses

Los Angeles Times to axe 250 jobs: newspaper

"Thanks to the Internet, we have more readers for our great journalism than at any time in our history. But also thanks to the Internet, our advertisers have more choices, and we have less money," Stanton wrote.

American Airlines plans nearly 7,000 job cuts

M&F cuts fifth of workers

NVDL: ABSA has also announced measures to 'trim 100 senior managers'. Right now we will see big cuts in Airlines, tourism, courier services, hauling, banking, and industries that are operating at saturation (such as the media, retail etc). This is demand destruction, but after the fact. None of these changes reflect a constructive, proactive shift, rather, it's a reactionary constriction, and probably not enough. There needs to be a complete reworking in how we operate - meaning huge investments are needed now in rail, renewable energe, nuclear energy, and organic agriculture.

NO, NO, NO. You can sometimes be a complete arsehole, Nick, even though I usually have no choice but to agree with you. But NO on the nuclear. Just no, ok? Go do some homework. It's nothing personal. If I didn't hate your gym-bunny chicks-dig-chauvanist-pigs attitude so much, I'd maybe like you a bit. Whatever the case, I do listen when you post. Read what you post. Whatever. NO NUCLEAR. OK?
