Don't cry for us Argentina
The truth is we really did beat you
All through those great tries
and Schalk’s crunching tackles
We kept our promise
Habana intercepted
NVDL: Lest we forget, no team that has dropped a game has ever won the Rugby World Cup. So if you hear fearmongerers talking up the England game, please ask them to be quiet. I expect a tense 20-30 minute start, and then, once England's morale has been squashed, they will be devastated, destroyed, by Bok power. Let's remember that they have scored only one try so far, and that, a pathetic LUCK-er against France in the flukey first few minutes.
I predicted a 30-10 winning margin. In the end it was what, 37 - 13 (arguably 37 - 6). Another supporter was suprised by my high score call. Haven't you noticed? South Africa is rearing to go. Just look at Habana. These guys are all strong, and fast. A dual component that we haven't seen for some time.
A word of caution though, going into the next game. While we showed some skill, at least three of our tries were intercepts. That means they were lucky. But we did prey off Argentina's mistakes, and we were able to turn around our own lack of 'fighting spirit' in the second half.
Against England we can't expect them to make as many mistakes, and there will be some kicker-vs-kicker mentality. England prey on the penalty aspect of the game, which is for me Boring Man's Rugby But we ought not to play England's game. We ought to be balance the physical side with damaging runs.
It can be a rout against England, of course, but we need to stay disciplined before the floodgates open. I think we will. And I'm looking forward to the buildup this week.
