It's hard to believe that I was here only a few weeks ago, when just yesterday I was bodysurfing and sunburnt in Jeffrey's Bay.
Interestingly, there's a restaurant in Jeffrey's Bay called Die Viswyf, and is named after a Dutch ship that was sent from Holland to set up a Refreshment Station at Madagascar. It rounded the Cape in 1764 or something, and then disappeared. They found the remains of the ship a few years ago, in the sand, while digging the foundations on the beach for a new MTN mast.
Apparently a cook was the only survivor.
